Eleven years and eight season later, here we are. Game of Thrones came to an end last night and it didn’t go down without a fight. Yes, the series finale was truly a wild ride, as just as you thought one thing was going to happen, something completely different went down.

To begin with, Daenerys Targaryen announced she was setting her sights on the rest of the world, right after turning King’s Landing and its inhabitants to ashes. She’d truly become the mad queen and Jon Snow took it upon himself to stop her, despite not wanting to do it. He ended her reign with a dagger through the heart, which really pissed Drogon off. Just as we thought the dragon was going to return Jon to the afterlife though, he turned to the Iron Throne and reduced it to red-hot goop.

But one of the biggest twists of the night was actually something other than Dany’s murder and Jon’s life being spared. It was the fact that Tyrion convinced the newly formed council to appoint Bran the new king. Not Jon. Not Sansa. But the youngest Stark became Bran the Broken, and will henceforth be the new ruler of Westeros.

It was quite surprising, to say the least, and here are some of the best reactions from fans on Twitter. To say they have pretty mixed feelings about it is definitely an understatement.

And here I thought Drogon just missed Jon because he was blinded by his big dragon tears.

What say you, though? Do you think Bran was the right choice win the Game of Thrones? As always, let us know in the comments section down below or feel free to hit me up on Twitter to discuss.
