Game Of Thrones Season Finale Featurettes Take Us Inside The Episode

Last night’s season 6 finale of HBO’s Game of Thrones is being hailed as one of the strongest so far, and it’s not difficult to see why. There was the usual death and destruction (though at least a few of the characters had it coming this time), touching moments between several fan-favourites, Dany and her now impressively bolstered army finally setting sail for Westeros, and one of the biggest, most speculated upon theories was also confirmed: R + L = J.

Well, the “L” part at least. We don’t actually find out for certain if Rhaegar Targaryen is Jon Snow’s father, but it’s assumed that his rape of Lyanna Stark resulted in the current King in the North’s conception. Will this information result in Jon’s claim to the throne being refuted? If Littlefinger finds out he’ll almost certainly attempt to use that knowledge to influence Sansa to turn against her brother cousin, so let’s hope the young wolf isn’t quite as naive as she used to be.
