The CW has released the first official images from next week’s episode of Supergirl, and while there’s sadly no sign of Cyborg Superman, they do feature a few other intriguing reveals. For starters, Supergirl and Mon-El have somehow ended up in the clutches of the villainous group known as Cadmus, which isn’t good news.

What they want with the Kryptonian and Daxamite remains to be seen, but it can’t be anything good. Perhaps that’s why James Olsen and Winn are once again conspiring, as it may very well be down to National City’s newest vigilante, Guardian, to help save the two aliens from whatever Cadmus has planned for them.

For more details on what to expect from this episode of Supergirl – which is titled “The Darkest Place” – here’s the official synopsis:

While Guardian (Mehcad Brooks) tries to clear his name after being accused of a murder committed by another vigilante, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) heads out on a solo mission to rescue Mon-El (Chris Wood) who has been captured by CADMUS. While fighting to free Mon-El, Supergirl comes face to face with Cyborg Superman. Glen Winter directed the episode written by Robert Rovner & Paula Yoo.

Something else that’s pretty interesting in the gallery above is what looks like a pretty tense meeting between Alex Danvers and Maggie Sawyer. The former recently came out to the detective, but she’s reluctant to embark on a relationship with the DEO agent. Could this episode change that? It’s possible, but we’ll have to wait until Supergirl returns to The CW next Monday to find out for sure.
