Michael Sheen as Aziraphale

‘Good Omens’ star coins a new word to warn us of the fresh kind of apocalypse coming in season 2

Zombies are not biblical creatures, but perhaps 'Good Omens' will change that.

The much-anticipated second season of Good Omens is only a few weeks away, and with the big day drawing near, promotional content is at an all-time high. Michael Sheen, for one, is doing his part.

When asked by a fan on Twitter to sum up the upcoming season in one word, Aziraphale’s actor ended up giving away more than we ever dreamed of. In all fairness, how could he fit everything season two is shaping up to be in only a few letters? Answer: he couldn’t, so he came up with something better.

By chopping up a bunch of (read: at least 10) words and stitching them together, Sheen created a unique word to describe the new season. Of course, devoted fans were quick to examine the actor’s newly coined term for clues about what the upcoming episodes will entail, easily finding “romantic,” “grave,” “magic show,” and “bible,” among other words. Without a doubt, the most surprising find of all, though, is “zombie.”

In season one, we saw Aziraphale and Crowley working to prevent an apocalypse of biblical proportions from hitting Earth, so it seems fitting that another kind would occur in season two. Granted, we don’t yet know in what way zombies will be involved in Good Omens, but this little tease is enough to get fans excited for what is to come.

This season will also deal with Gabriel’s escape from Heaven, as revealed in the official trailer, as well as Aziraphale and Crowley’s blooming romance. With so much going on, expectations are high for the new batch of episodes, meaning that the chance of disappointment is also big. There’s no backing out now, though, so let’s just hope the new season lives up to the standard set by its predecessor.

Good Omens season 2 is coming to Prime Video on July 28.
