When it comes to any sort of costuming choice, everybody is bound to have their own opinion. But in the case of an icon as widely known as Batman, fans will either express their love for his latest costume when seeing it for the first time, or spew enough venom on it so that no substance known to man could possibly clean it off. Hey, as long as it doesn’t have nipples, it can’t be all that bad, right?
As you’ve probably heard by now, Gotham‘s series finale was capped off by the grand payoff we’d been fantasizing about for five years – and that was the reveal of the Dark Knight himself. Naturally, this caused more than a few people to express their joy to the rest of the Twitterverse.
Speaking of which, here are a few folks who really dug what they saw:

Like I said, this was a build-up that lasted for about a half-decade, and these next two viewers seemingly understood the gravity of that:
Literally the MOMENT the episode faded out I started crying I can't believe that's it. #Gotham

Oh my god. That final shot of Batman. CHILLS. #Gotham

In stark contrast to what seemed to be the norm on Twitter, I saw a number of Facebook threads lit up by more, shall we say, negative comments. Like I said earlier, someone of Batman’s stature is bound to invite passionate responses from both sides of the aisle.
If you’d like to know which side I lean toward, I guess I’m more so in the positive direction. On the one hand, I expected more from a show airing on a major network such as Fox and have seen better cosplays, but on the other, the attire is quintessentially Batman.
Gotham: The Complete Fifth Season arrives on Blu-ray on July 9th.
