Leaked Gotham Set Photos Show A Mustache-Less Jim Gordon And Young Penguin

Fox's Batman prequel series Gotham is sure to be one of the most talked about new shows of the 2014 season, as it focuses on a time in the Caped Crusader's story that has remained highly untouched outside of comic books. It will predominantly tell the tale of a young Detective Jim Gordon, who has just transferred to Gotham City. Along with exploring the origins of the many familiar faces within Batman's rogues gallery, the show will also feature a thirteen year-old Bruce Wayne, who has just witnessed the death of his parents.

Fox’s Batman prequel series Gotham is sure to be one of the most talked about new shows of the 2014 season, as it focuses on a time in the Caped Crusader’s story that has remained highly untouched outside of comic books. It will predominantly tell the tale of a young Detective Jim Gordon, who has just transferred to Gotham City. Along with exploring the origins of the many familiar faces within Batman’s rogues gallery, the show will also feature a thirteen year-old Bruce Wayne, who has just witnessed the death of his parents.

The show already has a series order at Fox and filming for the pilot is currently underway in New York City. Because of the infectious fan curiosity surrounding the project, we were bound to get our fair share of leaked photos from the set and today marks the first batch.

Normally I’d warn that set photos aren’t a clear indication of what we may finally see on screen, but considering the straight-forward nature of these characters and the show’s very realistic setting, I’d wager a guess that the images below give us a pretty good look at the final product.

The first thing worth noting is that McKenzie is missing Gordon’s iconic mustache. It either fell off during a rooftop chase or Gordon hasn’t let it grow in yet. I wonder what kind of backlash this minor change will have. Diehard comic book fans are rather protective of these iconic characters, after all.

Taylor, on the other hand, looks perfect as a young Cobblepot, presenting just the right amount of creepiness that we’ve come to associate with the Penguin. All that’s missing is his iconic umbrella, something I don’t doubt we’ll see a lot of as the show goes on.

We have yet to see glimpses of the rest of the cast, which includes Donal Logue as Gordon’s partner Harvey Bullock, Jada Pinkett Smith as Cobblepot’s boss Fish Mooney, David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Sean Pertwee as Alfred, and newcomer Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle. With cameras rolling as we speak though, I expect we’ll be getting a lot more set photos soon, so be sure to stay tuned.

In the meantime, sound off below and tell us what you think of McKenzie and Taylor in costume on the set of Gotham!
