Gripping Marco Polo Season 2 Trailer Confirms July Premiere

13th Century China beckons once more in the first trailer for Marco Polo season 2, which is expected to premiere via Netflix on July 1.

Thanks in large part to the superhero fandom that continues to grip Hollywood, much of the praise that is directed at Netflix’s slate of original series often involves the company’s partnership with Marvel – be that in the form of Daredevil or Jessica Jones.

But there’s a whole host of greatness scattered right across the Netflix library (not to mention spooky ’80s series Stranger Things) particularly now that the online giant is ramping up its output to encompass high-profile feature films. Circling back to those early years, however, and one series that struck a chord with subscribers is Marco Polo – with its compelling cast and lush rendition of 13th Century China – which is now primed to return on July 1.

In anticipation of its imminent premiere, Netflix has now rolled out an all-new trailer for the original drama, welcoming back Lorenzo Richelmy in the title role. There’s a new nemesis to confront, though, as our hero looks to defend Kublai Khan’s throne after being sworn into the Order of the Mongol Knights. Michelle Yeoh also stars as an enigmatic new warrior.

Tom Wu, Joan Chen, Zhu Zhu, Olivia Cheng and Claudia Kim are also on board to reprise their respective roles when Marco Polo season 2 premieres exclusively via Netflix on July 1.
