HBO Boss Says Game Of Thrones Series Finale Is Epic And Fans Will Love It

Speaking about the Game of Thrones series finale earlier today, HBO President Casey Bloys said that it's epic and fans will love what they have planned.

For Westerosi folk, this is it – the beginning of the end.

After seven seasons of intense drama and jaw-dropping spectacle, HBO is finally ready to bid adieu to Game of Thrones – you know, before those inevitable successor series begin heading into production – with a suitably epic and satisfying (we hope) eighth season, which is said to be arriving in the first half of 2019.

It’ll span six episodes in total, and the likes of Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) and Iain Glen (Ser Jorah Mormont) have already spoken out and praised Game of Thrones‘ “brilliant” finale, even if the latter told us that the swan song may not please everyone.

Be that as it may, HBO President Casey Bloys thinks fans are going to really dig what they’ve put together, with the head honcho teasing the following earlier this week at the Television Critics Association press tour in Los Angeles:

“I think it’s epic. I think fans are going to love it. I think it’s a fitting way for one of the greatest shows in the history of television to go out and that people are going to be very happy. There’s going to be a lot of conversation.”

Of course, given that it’s the President of HBO saying this, it’s fair to approach these remarks with caution. Obviously, he’s biased and wouldn’t do anything but praise what the network’s done with season 8. That being said, it’s still hard not to be excited. After all, this is a show that rarely, if ever, disappoints, and we simply cannot wait to see what Bloys and co. have planned for us with the final run.

As mentioned above, it’ll span for a total of six episodes and seemingly deliver a wholly satisfying conclusion to HBO’s grand fantasy saga, so it’s small wonder why fans are looking forward to Game of Thrones season 8 with hushed excitement.
