Heroes Unite In The First Teaser Trailer For Marvel’s The Defenders

Back when Marvel and Netflix announced their partnership, it was mentioned that Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist would ultimately come together for The Defenders after one season each. Production is expected to begin later this year/early next so that The Defenders can air in 2017, and now the first teaser trailer has been released for the series. It doesn’t reveal much beyond the show’s official logo, but a voiceover from Stick leaves us with a lot to think about. While that dialogue was no doubt recorded specifically for the video, the heroes turning to him for advice points to him being part of The Defenders, and if that’s the case, chances are that the villain the team assembles to take on will be The Hand.

That would leave Daredevil season three free and clear to adapt “Born Again” and bring in a villain like Bullseye rather than continuing to pit The Man Without Fear against the clan of ninjas. We’re going to have to wait and see if that happens (details likely won’t be revealed until the New York Comic-Con in October), but so far, The Defenders is shaping up to be pretty exciting.
