How many episodes are in ‘Fear the Walking Dead?’

Hope you've got a comfy couch, because there's PLENTY of 'Fear the Walking Dead' to catch up on.

Following in the same footsteps its namesake made last year, AMC’s spinoff series Fear the Walking Dead has just kicked off its eighth and final season. While this fact may be bittersweet, the most devout The Walking Dead fans know this is hardly the end of the franchise, with multiple spinoff projects and miniseries in the works.

Still, if you only ever had time in your viewing schedule for the mainline series and never got around to Fear, you may be wondering how long it would take to get yourself up to speed and start enjoying season eight with the rest of us. Perhaps you could squeeze in a cheeky binge before The Walking Dead: Dead City arrives in June 2023? Well, if that’s your objective, you’ve got quite the undertaking ahead of you. Despite it being ‘the spinoff,’ there’s plenty of Fear The Walking Dead to go around. Let’s find out exactly how much.

How many episodes of Fear the Walking Dead are there?

With the early seasons alternating between a few different episode numbers before the series’ midsection finally settled on 16 episodes, between the first seven seasons of Fear the Walking Dead, there are a staggering 101 episodes to get through. Add to that the twelve episodes that season 8 will bring, and we bring that number up to a grand total of an eye-watering 113 episodes by the time the series finishes its run.

Considering that any given episode of the series may run anywhere between 40-60 minutes, that’s a lot of catching up. However, given the void that The Walking Dead and The Last of Us have left when it comes to post-apocalyptic zombie stories, is there really a better way to fill your time for now?
