It’s been 8 years now since Bryan Fuller’s blood-stained thriller extravaganza Hannibal was canceled at NBC. Despite being nearly a decade ago, the burn doesn’t sting any less for die-hards who are still campaigning for the show’s return. And while all hope feels lost on most days, star Mads Mikkelsen has swooped in to deliver us a tiny glimmer of hope after speaking about the show and teasing a potential return in the future.

While chatting with Deadline on the Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny premiere carpet, the Danish actor insisted that while nobody is planning to wait around for 20 years for the project to return, folks would certainly be inclined to pick the series back up if a home was found for it. We’re looking at you, Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video — anybody! You can check out the interview for yourself down below:

Mikkelsen’s words are far from an official confirmation that the show is returning, but there’s no denying that his remarks have pushed forward a great amount of hope in fans that are itching to see the series make a long-awaited comeback. It wouldn’t be the first time that a return for the show was teased, with Fuller himself hinting at a potential return back in April.

We’ll definitely keep our eyes and ears peeled for further confirmation, but until we learn more of a potential return, folks can stream Hannibal on Hulu right now.
