And since the time travelling DC show has been indeed renewed for a fifth year, it makes sense that the producers begin sorting things out. In fact, they’ve locked down Jes Macallan as a series regular for at least one more season, so all of you “Avalance” fans reading this have much reason to rejoice. Well, that is if their relationship endures for that long. Hey, I don’t mean to be a downer, but Sara Lance doesn’t seem to be with the same person for too long.

According to executive producer and showrunner Phil Klemmer, “Jes has a power to captivate in person as well as on screen.” Granted, that quote was first given about a year ago when Macallan was promoted to the principal cast for season 4, but she’s made a good enough impression to stick around for a little longer.

Having first been introduced during season 3, Ava Sharpe was initially somewhat of a foil for our heroes, often being the no-nonsense suit at the Time Bureau. Obviously, it didn’t take long for her to warm up to the team – and Sara, in particular – before it was eventually revealed that she’s a clone from the future. Despite that, she’s now somewhat viewed as the replacement for Rip Hunter on the series, also assuming his role at the agency.

Legends of Tomorrow returns with its midseason premiere on Monday, April 1st on The CW. Keep in mind that it’ll swap timeslots with Arrow, so be sure to set your DVR accordingly.
