Kilgrave Worms His Way Back Into The Mind Of Jessica Jones In Latest Season 2 Set Pics

David Tennant's Kilgrave, the sly antagonist who met his maker at the tail-end of season 1, haunts Jessica Jones in today's all-new set snaps.

Just like time, the Marvel machine waits for no one.

On the eve of The Defenders pummeling their way onto Netflix (our review), candid photos have emerged from the New York set of Jessica Jones season 2, which is currently playing host to Krysten Ritter, Malcolm Joseph Ducasse (Eka Darville) and David Tennant’s returning Kilgrave.

Proving those earlier rumors to be true, this week brought confirmation that the former Doctor Who star would reprise his villainous role for Jessica Jones season 2, leading to some speculation that Melissa Rosenberg and her team were about to resurrect Kilgrave for another stint in Hell’s Kitchen. But at least based on the gallery below, Tennant’s trickster seems to be haunting Jessica from beyond the grave, and is likely a physical manifestation of her own personal grief for snapping his neck at the tail-end of season 1. Kilgrave left her no choice, of course, but it’s safe to assume season 2 will delve deep into Jessica’s PTSD.

Also of note, Darville’s recovering addict, Malcolm, appears to be affected by Kilgrave’s presence. Perhaps that means his mind-bending powers are still in play? Or has that been dulled by his death? We’ll find out soon.

Flanked by newcomers Leah Gibson (Typhoid Mary?) and J.R. Ramirez as two series regulars, Jessica Jones is expected to return to the streets of Hell’s Kitchen sometime next year, while we learned just yesterday that The Defenders will cause a ripple effect on Phase 2 of Marvel and Netflix’s street-level franchise.

Filming on Jessica Jones will continue through until October, at which point Marvel and Netflix will begin to prep JJ‘s second outing for a possible premiere in 2018. Also cramming up the pipeline are new helpings of Luke Cage, Daredevil and Iron Fist, which has since drafted in a new showrunner in the form of Raven Metzner ahead of its own second season.
