Just like Boba Fett, ‘The Mandalorian’ fans think Din is being sidelined in his own show

The question of whom the titular ‘Mandalorian’ is in The Mandalorian is surprisingly tricky. Din Djarin is the most obvious choice, being both a Mandalorian and the focus of the show. But there’s a decent argument that it’s referring to Grogu’s slow ascent to becoming a fierce (if diminutive) warrior. Now there’s yet another contender in Bo-Katan Kryze.

Originating in The Clone Wars, Katee Sackhoff continued playing the character in live-action, making her debut in the second season. Now, with the third season now just two weeks away from its finale, some are wondering whether she’s now the Mandalorian the title refers to.

After all, it seems that she’s set to become the new Mandalore, has witnessed the mighty Mythosaur, is leading the reunion of the tribes, and as of today, officially wields the Darksaber. This has left Din Djarin standing on the sidelines, with some fans seeing this as a sad echo of Boba Fett being sidelined (for Din) in The Book of Boba Fett.

Here’s how it’s going down on r/StarWars:

And not even Grogu has developed much this season!

Perhaps the remaining two episodes will refocus the show back on Din and Grogu, but indications are that this is the Bo-Katan show for a while yet. We don’t want to see Din as a passive observer for too long, not to mention that we miss his bounty-hunting days from the first season. Here’s hoping he gets a big moment of awesome heroism before or in the season three finale.
