Kim Kardashian is set to join the next season of ‘American Horror Story’

Reality star and one of the most famous people in the world Kim Kardashian is heading for the screen, though no longer as herself. Kardashian will star alongside series regular Emma Roberts in the twelfth season of American Horror Story which the recently released teaser revealed is titled Delicate.

The reality star-turned-businesswoman is swapping one type of drama for another as she takes on a role in the well-loved horror franchise. This isn’t the first time Kardashian has acted, though, in many of her past roles, she cameoed as herself such as in 2 Broke Girls, How I Met Your Mother, and 30 Rock. She has had the opportunity to act as someone other than herself on a few occasions, but her role in American Horror Story will be her first big role.

The news came after both Kardashian and Roberts shared the teaser on their socials, surprising fans everywhere. American Horror Story‘s creator, Ryan Murphy, told The Hollywood Reporter “Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family,” adding, “Emma and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture.”

The horror series has seen a slew of stars enter its horrific world over the years including Lady Gaga, Angela Bassett, and Adam Levine, and now Kardashian shall enter those ranks. Of her role, Murphy said, “Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim.”

This season will be a little bit of a departure for the series as it is the first time they are truly taking inspiration directly from the source material. This upcoming season is based on the upcoming novel Delicate Condition by Danielle Valentine. The book will be released in August and is said to be a gripping thriller about a woman who becomes convinced that a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens.

This also marks Roberts’ return to the franchise after a four-year hiatus. The actress has been a big part of the American Horror Story scene since her appearance in Coven back in 2013. She was last involved in the 2019 season titled 1984. Filming for the next season is set to get underway at the end of this month and is set to be released in the summer of this year, with an exact date announced in June.
