Latest Disney News: After Amazon Studios, Disney wins Netflix’s loss while a box office bomb throws Disney Plus under the bus

All this while the streamer stokes at a not-so-dormant volcano.

Can one beat a competitor without actually announcing a war? You will have to ask Disney for specific pointers on that recipe.

The Mouse House has swooped in to bag the winner of six Emmys who has been associated with Netflix for the last five years and given it many of its highest hits. On the streamer front, it has dared to poke a sleeping but still very angry bear by daring to suggest Marvel’s oldest fan theory can come true after all, but Disney Plus might not want to add to its woes as it is already getting blamed with flawed logic.

After Mike Flanagan jumps ship, another Netflix wonder gets ready to say bye-bye and make Disney his new home

The Fall of the House of Usher is set to be Mike Flanagan’s last addition to Netflix’s upcoming horror library as he is all set to embark on a new (and hopefully cancelation-free) journey with Amazon Studios. And taking a leaf out of his book is Ryan Murphy, who created hit shows like Dahmer- Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, The Watcher, Hollywood, etc for the streamer, as he is ready to leave Netflix behind after his five-year deal ends and join Disney

So, with Murphy moving over to Disney, can we now restart hoping that his thriller series Netflix promptly renewed but never made might find a place in his new abode?

Disney Plus’ latest update might make or break the Marvel fandom’s faith in the studio

The first episode of Secret Invasion is all set to hit the streamer tomorrow and seeing that it is part of the MCU continuity, many might need to refresh their memories about the recent history of its key characters. So, Disney Plus, in the guise of extending a helping hand, has released a list of MCU projects that needs to be binged before the new show premieres.

While seeing names like Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain Marvel, What If…?, etc was normal, what is bound to throw anyone for a loop is the presence of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on the list as well. Justifying it by the logic that it is there because both Fury and Maria Hill appeared in the series doesn’t work as by that reasoning, Avengers: Infinity War should have been on the list as well.

So, do we throw caution out of the window and get excited about the possibility that Chloe Bennett has been simply pulling an Andrew Garfield all this time? Or does this antic deserve the suspicion normally harbored for Netflix whenever it tries to raise our hopes?

Apparently, Disney Plus needs to be blamed for the Mouse House’s latest box-office bomb

Elemental

Disney and Pixar’s Elemental is currently drowning in terms of box-office earnings as critics praised its animation and underlined how its poor screenplay left a lot to desire. But as far as Pixar boss Pete Docter is concerned, the blame for the diminishing box office numbers for the film lies on Disney Plus as it “trained audiences” to simply wait for Disney/Pixar projects to release on the streamer instead of catching their theatrical debut.

Someone is forgetting how Turning Red was absolutely adored by audiences alike despite being released in theaters and on Disney Plus simultaneously.
