At least, that’s the message buried in today’s all-too-brief snippet, heralding the return of Hayley Atwell’s title agent to ABC earlier next year. Settling into a new home has never been easy, but Agent Carter season 2 lumps on the pressure by introducing a series of atomic threats that emerge in the fallout of World War II.

One of the chief antagonists that Atwell’s heroine will be left facing is Whitney Frost (AKA Madame Masque), a character that is originally synonymous with Tony Stark and Iron Man before Marvel’s executive producers reworked the villain’s arc to incorporate her into the Agent Carter universe.

Bringing back the cast and crew for a ten-episode stint on ABC, Agent Carter season 2 also stars Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, Bridget Regan, Reggie Austin, Currie Graham, Lotte Verbeek, Lesley Boone, Ken Marino and Kurtwood Smith.

A slight delay may have postponed Peggy’s trip to Tinsel Town, but Agent Carter is on course to return for season 2 with a two-hour premiere on Tuesday, January 19 on ABC

Agent-Carter-1

Marvel’s “Agent Carter” returns for a second season of adventure and intrigue, starring Hayley Atwell in the titular role of the unstoppable secret agent for the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve). Dedicated to the fight against new atomic age threats in the wake of World War II, Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. But even as she discovers new friends, a new home — and perhaps even a new love — she’s about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.
