Lauren Cohan on The Walking Dead

Lauren Cohan Could Return To Season 10 Of The Walking Dead

With ABC having recently canceled Whiskey Cavalier, there's hope yet that Lauren Cohan will reprise her role as Maggie Green on The Walking Dead.

The last few seasons of AMC’s The Walking Dead have been chock-full of character deaths, with fan favorites dropping faster than flies. Although a few key players permanently exited the show as a result of their untimely demise, others have simply left, either on their own free will or through other more mysterious circumstances (here’s looking at you, Rick).

And then there’s the matter of Maggie Green. After the six-year time jump in the middle of season 9, actress Lauren Cohan departed from the The Walking Dead. Fans were given the explanation that Maggie had left the Hilltop in order to help Georgie build another community. In the real world, though, Cohan quit the series for warmer pastures.

Last year, she had landed a lead role in ABC’s Whiskey Cavalier, an action-comedy-drama that followed the exploits of FBI Special Agent Will Chase (Scott Foley) and CIA agent Francesca “Frankie” Trowbridge (Cohan). The show also starred Ana Ortiz as FBI profiler Susan Sampson, Vir Das as CIA agent Jai Datta, Tyler James Williams as NSA analyst Edgar Standish, and Josh Hopkins as FBI Special Agent Ray Prince.

Unfortunately, due to middling ratings, ABC pulled the plug on Whiskey Cavalier after a single season, with the eleventh and final episode airing next week. While this is sad news for the show’s cast and crew, it does mean that Lauren Cohan could return to The Walking Dead for its tenth season. As noted by ComicBookMovie.com, there’s enough of an open door for Maggie to make a return, and rumors are circulating that the showrunners are planning a small arc around the eldest Greene sister.

With Carl, Jesus, Tara, Enid, and Rick out of the picture, we’re certainly crossing our fingers for Lauren to return for the tenth season of The Walking Dead, which is set to premiere in October. And as soon as we hear anything official on the matter, we’ll be sure to let you know.
