That’s right, woodchuck chuckers, it’s Groundhog Day! So, seeing as it’s February 2nd, let’s take a look at the just-released synopsis for an upcoming episode of Legends of Tomorrow which will take inspiration from the classic Bill Murray comedy based around the holiday.

In episode 11 of season 3, “Here I Go Again,” Tala Ashe’s Zari will find herself trapped in a time loop. Rather than being stuck in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, though, the heroine will have to prevent the Waverider from being destroyed over and over. That’s definitely higher stakes than trying to woo Andie MacDowell.

It also sounds like the time loop gimmick will be used to explore Zari’s character and what her place is on the team. Having joined the gang at the beginning of the season, she’s still the newbie of the bunch, so this one will likely deal with her hang-ups about that and see her properly feel like a needed member of the squad.

Here’s the official synopsis:

FINDING YOUR PLACE — After the team returns from a mission, Zari (Tala Ashe) finds herself trapped in a time loop that results in the Waverider blowing up over and over again. Zari soon begins to suspect that the answer to stop what is happening might lie hidden among her fellow shipmates’ secrets. But in investigating them she starts to understand her place on the team. Caity Lotz, Brandon Routh, Dominc Purcell, Nick Zano, Maise Richardson-Sellers, Nick Zano and Keiynan Lonsdale also stars. Ben Bray directed the episode written by Ray Utarnachitt & Morgan Faust (#311). Original airdate 2/19/2018.

Of course, sci-fi TV buffs will note that the premise is also very similar to an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation called “Cause and Effect,” something the producers have been open about as an inspiration.

It’s also been confirmed that Amy Pemberton will be turning up again as the physical form of Gideon, the Waverider’s onboard computer. The actress previously appeared in the flesh in season 2’s “Land of the Lost,” which was set in Rip Hunter’s mind. By the sounds of it, then, this episode will likely be a bit of two-hander between Zari and Gideon.

Legends of Tomorrow returns to The CW on Monday, February 12th.
