A little earlier this week, Paul Blackthorne Tweeted out a behind the scenes photo featuring Hannibal star Rutina Wesley as Lady Cop in season four of Arrow. Now, the director of the episode that the character will first appear in has revealed an official image of the actress in the role, and Oliver Queen had best watch his back when he returns as the Green Arrow, because she looks very tough indeed.

For those of you who haven’t heard, that director is Lexi Alexander (Punisher: War Zone). This marks her return to the comic book genre after that divisive Marvel movie – many fans loved her take on Frank Castle, but critics weren’t quite so kind – and it’s going to be interesting to see what she brings to The CW series.

In the comics, Lady Cop debuted in the 1970s and was basically just a female police offer who solved crimes. However, she’ll be a member of Star City’s anti-vigilante task force in Arrow, and that should spell trouble for Oliver Queen and his fellow heroes because Green Arrow’s return obviously won’t be welcomed by the authorities.

After what many fans have called a disappointing third season of Arrow, the fourth is shaping up to be very exciting indeed, thanks to casting additions like Jimmy Akingbola as Baron Reiter, Neal McDonough as Damien Darhk, Alexander Calvert as Anarky, Echo Kellum as Mister Terrific, Falk Hentschel as Hawkman, and Casper Crump as Legend of Tomorrow‘s Vandal Savage.

All signs point to a very promising fourth outing for the show, and we can’t wait to see what they have in store.
