Despite a plethora of new details recently finding their way online, we still don’t know what exactly brings The Defenders together in the upcoming eight-part Netflix series. Sure, Sigourney Weaver’s villain has finally been revealed, but what she’s up to and how that relates to Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist remains to be seen.

More details on that front will hopefully be revealed soon, but in the meantime, some new set photos (below) have found their way online featuring a reunion between Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) and Luke Cage (Mike Colter), something which is sure to be interesting considering the fact that she put a shotgun to his head and pulled the trigger the last time they met.

Since then, Luke has moved on and found love with Claire Temple, and it does appear as if these two are getting on pretty well in The Defenders. Of course, we have no idea whether this scene comes before or after the team assembles, but of all the meetings we’ve seen on the New York set of the series, this is easily one of the most exciting for fans.

Set to premiere on Netflix during the summer, The Defenders is the culmination of a story which began when Daredevil premiered back in 2015. Before we get to it though, we’ve got Iron Fist to look forward to, as that debuts in March. And if early reports are to be believed, it’s going to be something quite special.
