The Heroes For Hire Come To Blows In Latest Set Photos For Luke Cage Season 2

Marvel’s Heroes for Hire aren’t known for seeing eye to eye – not first, at least.

That’s a tension we saw take hold in The Defenders, when Luke Cage and Iron Fist first crossed paths, much to the delight of Marvel’s comic book audience. But with The Hand reeling and Midland Circle reduced to rubble, those street-level heroes – along with Daredevil and Jessica Jones – are now preparing to circle back to their own individual series.

Then again, this being a Marvel joint, there is always room for a crossover and sure enough, Mike Colter has already gone on record about a potential Heroes for Hire arc in Luke Cage season 2. Filming is now underway on the streets of New York City, and fan site FinnJones.com has relayed another helping of set photos to prove it. Embedded below, these action shots see Danny Rand and Luke Cage coming to blows – such is the Marvel way – and if you peer close enough, you’ll notice that Danny’s hoody features the catchphrase “Sweet Xmas,” so take from that what you will.

And though The Defenders wasn’t the big splash that Marvel and Netflix had hoped, it’s still a remarkably exciting time for the pair’s roster of superheroes.

Further details on the actual order of Netflix’s 2018 slate are yet to be disclosed, but when Luke Cage season 2 does release, it’ll deliver another crowd-pleasing rendition of Danny and Luke kicking ass and taking names. Or so says Finn Jones:

There are people that love the idea of Heroes for Hire. When people saw The Defenders, they thought the relationship was good between Finn and I, and they are curious. They want to see more of that. He will bring some fresh blood in the new season, and I’m hoping that people will respond to it well.

On the heels of The Defenders, Marvel and Netflix plan to launch season 2 of Luke Cage sometime next year – long after The Punisher has had his time in the spotlight.
