Next week, expect Jervis Tetch’s reign of terror to continue as his tormenting of James Gordon takes a hallucinogenic turn that is somewhat reminiscent of Mad Hatter’s sequence in the video game Batman: Arkham Origins. As we the viewers wonder if Valerie Vale will survive the operating table, it appears that Gordon must brave the darkest corners of his own mind if he hopes to defeat his deadly new nemesis.

The trailer also points toward the return of the Court of Owls, whom diehard comic book fans likely want to see more of. Although they’re still pretty new to the mythos, they originated in what is widely agreed to be one of the best Batman stories of this decade, the aptly titled Batman: The Court of Owls. And, although Bruce Wayne is encountering them much earlier than he did in the source material, there’s still much to geek out over.
