Marvel Reveals Official Synopses For Agent Carter’s First Two Episodes

As Marvel’s small screen endeavour Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., tucks in for winter hibernation, its next serial is revving up for a winter start. Together with ABC, Marvel have now released the official synopses for Agent Carter‘s first two episodes.

The show is set to begin its eight-episode run in January, with Hayley Atwell returning to play the feisty S.H.I.E.L.D. operative in the events following Captain America: The First Avenger. She’s had a brief reprieve in Cap follow-up, The Winter Soldier, as well as her own Marvel One-Shot, but her own fully-fledged series looks to be steering Marvel into a most welcome direction.

Touted as a less serious affair than Agents, Agent Carter will follow Peggy after World War II with the titular lass dealing with a new social climate when the country’s military troops return home. You can now uncover more episode-specific details with the new synopses below.

For premiere episode, This Is Not The End:

“Peggy is contacted by old acquaintance Howard Stark when he is framed for unleashing his deadliest weapons and can trust no one else. To help Peggy clear Stark’s name, he insists his butler, Edwin Jarvis, be at her beck and call–whether she likes it or not. But the risk is great: If caught, Agent Carter could be targeted as a traitor and spend the rest of her days in prison…or worse.”

For the second episode, Bridge And Tunnel:

“Howard Stark’s deadliest weapon has fallen into enemy hands, and only Agent Carter can recover it. But can she do so before her undercover mission is discovered by SSR Chief Dooley and Agent Thompson?”

Marvel’s Agent Carter debuts on ABC January 6th, 2015 with two back-to-back episodes featuring Dominic Cooper, James D’Arcy, Shea Whigham, Aedin Adams, Kyle Bornheimer, Meagan Fay, Lyndsy Fonseca, James Landry Hebert, Alexander Carroll and Bridget Regan.
