Mind-Bending Trailer For The Twilight Zone Reboot Debuts During Super Bowl

Before we know it, we'll all be venturing back into a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. And there to guide us on our journey will be none other than Get Out's Jordan Peele, who'll be overseeing the reboot of classic 1960s sci-fi anthology series The Twilight Zone for CBS All Access.

Before we know it, we’ll all be venturing back into a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. And there to guide us on our journey will be none other than Get Out‘s Jordan Peele, who’ll be overseeing the reboot of classic 1960s sci-fi anthology series The Twilight Zone for CBS All Access.

We haven’t seen much from the project since its announcement but tonight during the Super Bowl, the network dropped a rather mind-bending teaser. Featuring Peele front and center, the clever concept behind the promo sees it hijacking the big game as the aforementioned filmmaker walks on the stadium field reciting a narration that asks us what dimension we’re in, before it ends off on a chilling note.

Granted, it’s not much, but it’s certainly got us intrigued. If nothing else, it’ll be fascinating to see how The Twilight Zone reboot lives up to the original, as Netflix’s Black Mirror is already very much the spiritual successor to the 1960s series, as it also uses science fiction to tell smart stories that reflect life as we know it and have us questioning the world around us.

Twilight Zone

Created and hosted by Rod Serling all those years ago, for those unfamiliar with it, The Twilight Zone was a whip-smart anthology series that focused on the world’s atomic paranoia with uncanny precision. The reboot will no doubt mix up the formula a bit so that it can play on the current socio-political climate, and it should be interesting to see what angle they take with the project.

Regardless of what CBS has come up with, The Twilight Zone is officially headed back to television, and we couldn’t be more excited for it. Especially since the brilliant Jordan Peele is heading it up, which makes us think that this is going to be must-watch TV when it debuts later this year.
