“Worth,” the penultimate episode of season 8 of The Walking Dead, is set to air on April 8th, and to whet our appetites, AMC has now released a brand new sneak peek from the upcoming installment of the hit zombie drama.
Before we get to it, though, here’s the official synopsis, which teases a few interesting developments to come.
“With the threat of the Saviors still looming, Aaron continues searching for allies; Daryl and Rosita take action and confront an old friend.”
Apparently, the episode is also set to get into the nitty-gritty of what Simon did while Negan was away. After all, he chose not to send a search party out for the big bad and even told the Saviors that he thought Negan was dead. And, let’s face it, those aren’t the kinds of transgressions that Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s villain is likely to take very lightly.
But it’s not Simon who’s featured in the clip we have here today. Rather, it’s Dwight who’s being confronted by Negan, with Austin Amelio’s character being caught off guard by his return. “Surprised to see me? Shouldn’t be,” the Savior leader says.
Indeed, as the dust continues to settle from last week’s “Still Gotta Mean Something,” AMC is currently bracing for the one-two punch of “Worth” and “Wrath,” the latter of which just unveiled its first photo of Rick Grimes and Michonne on a war-ravaged battlefield.
The end is nigh, folks, and The Walking Dead looks set to deliver a satisfying and somewhat unexpected finale – one which will have far-reaching implications for the in-development ninth season, by which point writer-producer Angela Kang will be ready to take point at the helm.
