Netflix rapidly renews the spin-off to a trilogy for another season, and is instantly met by furious fantasy fanatics

TUDUM could be a bloodbath if the people don't get what they want.

Netflix may have developed a habit for axing shows that boast substantial fandoms, but when the company is mining its own back catalogue for inspiration the end result seems to be almost-instantaneous renewal, with the platform confirming that XO, Kitty will return for another round of episodic adventures.

Coming hot on the heels of smash hit erotic thriller Fake Profile being rewarded with another run just two weeks after its debut, the spin-off to To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You, and To All the Boys: Always and Forever may have taken a little longer to get the okay, but 27 days is still rapid by Netflix’s standards.

Of course, it’s not entirely undeserved when it debuted as the number one series on the worldwide charts and then established itself as one of the most popular offerings on the entire content library for the last four weeks, but as you can imagine, Shadow and Bone supporters aren’t best pleased.

In fact, as we reach 100 days with no word on either a season 3 or Six of Crows offshoot being actively on the cards, the very first response under Netflix’s celebratory tweet announcing season 2 of XO, Kitty succinctly states “okay don’t be shy now it’s time for the Six of Crows announcement.”

TUDUM has a lot riding on it this coming weekend, then, because you can bet the backlash will be even fiercer should the GrishaVerse go ignored, especially when we’ve reached a point that Netflix exclusives set n an entirely different genre are being used as a conduit for fans to voice their unbridled frustrations.
