In just a matter of weeks, the much talked about season finale of Arrow will arrive, but in the meantime, we must brace ourselves as “Olicity” rears its ugly head for at least one more occasion.
Most fortunately, it appears as though a vocal minority on Tumblr won’t be getting their way by having Oliver and Felicity reconciling as a romantic couple, but we are going to further explore the parameters of their breakup via this week’s flashbacks. Still, it’s a bitter pill to swallow.
On the plus side, we’ll get to see the two longtime allies demonstrate their resourcefulness as they’ve found themselves trapped in the bunker after Prometheus triggered an EMP, effectively knocking out the power. And, to make matters worse, Felicity’s spinal implant has been taken out of the equation for the time being, restoring her paralysis.
While we fully expect some other plot threads to run throughout the episode, it should be interesting to see something that’s a bit more low key at a time in the season when the pace usually picks up. But, as executive producer Wendy Mericle hints in the featurette embedded at the top, we could very well be in for a hell of a ride.
For more information regarding “Underneath,” be sure to check out the official synopsis below:
OLIVER AND FELICITY ARE TRAPPED — Things get intense when Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) are trapped in the bunker together. Meanwhile, Lyla (guest star Audrey Marie Anderson) and Diggle (David Ramsey) deal with their marital issues. Wendey Stanzler directed the episode written by Wendy Mericle & Beth Schwartz (#520).
Arrow airs on Wednesday nights on The CW.
