The midseason finale of Supergirl left us with a lot of unanswered questions, including what exactly Mon-El is up to. While he’s claimed to be the servant to the Prince of Daxam, many fans believe that he’s actually a member of the now destroyed planet’s royal family, hence why aliens are heading to Earth to track him down.

In a recent interview, Supergirl executive producer Ali Adler promised that we’re going to get some “definitive answers” in regards to what Mon-El is hiding and why exactly he’s claiming not to remember “that almost unsatisfying kiss” he shared with Kara Danvers. What that means for her chances of romance remains to be seen, but Adler adds:

“We’ll explore more of that relationship. Kara still has to figure out how she feels about him.”

It’s not going to be all smooth sailing for Alex Danvers and Maggie Sawyer either, as the producer promises that they’ll be facing a new crop of “complications” in their budding romance. Winn, meanwhile, also looks set to “get a little taste of love” when season 2 continues on The CW.

Finally, it sounds like we can expect quite a shift in the dynamic between Supergirl and Lena Luthor as they grow “closer,” while iconic Superman villain Mr. Mxyzptlk is described as, “a really funny character” who will bring with him “a lot of humour.” That’s an area the series has never struggled with, but it still sounds like the villain will be a lot of fun for fans when he debuts.

Tell us, what are you most looking forward to seeing when Supergirl season 2 returns later this month? Sound off in the usual place and let us know.
