New Gotham Promo Focuses On Proto-Batman Costume

After turning in an impressive season premiere last Thursday night, the cast and crew of Gotham look to keep the ball rolling with next week’s episode, “A Dark Knight: The Fear Reaper.” From that foreboding title, you can probably surmise that the Scarecrow will play a huge role, no doubt confounding Jim Gordon and the rest of the GCPD at every turn.

Also deserving your attention is another detailed look at Bruce Wayne’s proto-Batman costume, which will apparently make its debut in the very same episode. Much like in Batman Begins, the burgeoning vigilante gets his threads and tech from Lucius Fox, only this time we have Chris Chalk in place of Morgan Freeman. Although it’s a little on the nose, the polite nod won’t go unappreciated.

Sure, we may have scoffed at what looks more like Midnighter’s outfit at first, but this whole Batboy thing has been pulled off rather well thus far. Because of that, we’re willing to see where the producers intend on taking us next – and how Bruce will put his new gifts to use.

Here’s a synopsis for this week’s episode if you’re interested in some minor spoilers:

Under pressure to prove that the GCPD is still powerful, Gordon attempts to bring in Jonathan Crane. However, Gordon puts himself in a dangerous situation at Arkham when he is forced to fight off lunatics and the demon within himself. Meanwhile, with Barbara’s unexpected return, Selina and Tabitha must consider risks that come with joining her in the weapon business in the all-new “A Dark Knight: The Fear Reaper” episode of GOTHAM airing Thursday, Sept. 28 (8:00-9:01 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
