New ‘Young Jedi Adventures’ trailer promises to usher in the next generation of ‘Star Wars’ fans sooner than ever

No more premature viewings of 'A New Hope'!

Rightly or wrongly, some of us found out at the ripe old age of seven that Han shot first, unless your parents were Star Wars heathens and introduced you to the 1997 Special Edition of A New Hope. Either way, there was quite a bit of dark violence involved, and while we’re sure many such younglings turned out fine afterward, the fact remains that there’s always been a bit of a waiting game when it comes to introducing the next generation to George Lucas’ magnum opus.

But that’s going to end next month with the arrival of Young Jedi Adventures, an upcoming Disney Plus series that holds the distinction of being the first full-length Star Wars property to be targeted specifically for young children, and the trailer we received today makes it all the more clear that the Star Wars parents of tomorrow will have much less to worry about when getting their kids into the franchise; at the very least, concerns over exposing them to severed arms will be a thing of the past.

Young Jedi Adventures will follow the delightful misadventures of Jedi younglings Kai, Nash, Lys, and Nubs as they learn the ways of the Jedi, become one with the Force, and inadvertently serve as positive role models for the still-developing minds of their target audience.

Given that it’s set during the High Republic era, neither parent nor babysitter will have to worry about Order 66 coming along to fix up a brand new core memory for their child, and that’s just one of the many benefits Young Jedi Adventures will bring to the table as longtime Star Wars fans seek to get the next generation in the door as swiftly as possible.

Young Jedi Adventures will release to Disney Plus on May 4.
