Marvel Planning Nick Fury TV Show For Disney Streaming Service

After a period of absence from the MCU, Nick Fury finally came back in the post-credits scene of this year’s Avengers: Infinity War only to almost immediately turn into dust. In the months since, however, it’s become increasingly clear that the former S.H.I.E.L.D. director still has a whole load of future left in him. And to add further to this already busy schedule, a rumor has emerged that Samuel L. Jackson’s character could be getting his own TV series.

A month ago, news came out that Loki and Scarlet Witch would each be getting shows on Disney’s planned streaming service, and now MCU Cosmic are spreading the word that two more series are also in development, one of which could belong to Nick Fury. Obviously, these reports are in need of confirmation, but it’s certainly an idea that would sit well with a lot of fans.

If this is a project that Disney has in mind, then you can bet that the MCU’s next few movies will help provide some context on the series. First of all, a de-aged Jackson will be exploring the character’s younger days in Captain Marvel, which comes out on March 8th, 2019.

After that, though it’s not yet clear whether Fury will be appearing in Avengers 4 on May 3rd, it’s generally expected that the Infinity War sequel will see the mass genocide from the last movie somehow be reversed, which would mean the character returning to the world of the living. And speaking of heroes who were disintegrated this year, Spider-Man: Far From Home comes out a couple of months later on July 5th, and we know for a fact that Nick Fury will be back for that.

From the sound of things, the Avengers assembler has a lot on his plate, and if this latest rumor checks out, then Fury could be outlasting many of his Phase 1 peers.
