Yes, you read that correctly: nine. Over the last few weeks FX has been rolling out short but utterly effective teaser trailers for their upcoming second season of American Horror Story: Asylum.

We’ve already reported on the first four of these clips but with this outpouring of fresh promotional material the next batch carries on the creepy tradition with aplomb, bringing the total number of peaks to an ominous 13.

The titles of all of these clips, while intentionally mysterious, seem to hint at the various sadistic experiments going on inside the East Coast’s Briarcliff Manor for the Criminally Insane. We’ve already been given labels the likes of “Hydrobath” and now we can add “Save Us,” “Stitches,” and “Glass Prison” to the mix, among others.

Set in the 1960’s, American Horror Story: Asylum will follow the staff, visitors and inmates of the institution but will run in a different vein of the horror genre.

Whereas the first season of American Horror Story focused on a haunted house and its doomed inhabitants, season two will not feature apparitions, even with some of the same cast – Jessica Lange, Zachary Quinto, Sarah Paulson – returning.

Like the previous clips, each runs for only about 15 seconds so you won’t have to spend very long to be thoroughly creeped out by the bunch.

American Horror Story: Asylum returns to FX October 17.
