Flash Barry season 5

Nora West-Allen Could Return To The Flash

Though Nora West-Allen didn't always make the right decisions and often had to be bailed out by her father, the Flash, I really enjoyed having her around throughout season 5. Not only did Jessica Parker Kennedy give her a good personality, but her presence added something new to the Barry-Iris dynamic. I bet they didn't think they'd have an adult daughter this soon in their lives!

Much to the chagrin of myself and XS fans everywhere, the latest addition to Team Flash met her demise during last month’s finale. Long story short, the effects of the Negative Speed Force proved fatal, with Barry and Iris being forced to watch their kid disintegrate. Just when you thought the Scarlet Speedster needed another reason to hate Eobard Thawne, he got one.

Then again, the Reverse-Flash himself has cheated death more times than we’d care to count, so could Nora find her way back to the living? Here’s what Jessica Parker Kennedy told Collider when asked if her character is really dead:

“With comic book characters, anything could happen. She’s gone for now, but I think that there’s always a way to bring somebody back, on a show like that, and I definitely would be happy to do something like that. But yeah, as far as I know, she’s gone, for the moment.”

Considering how wonderfully crazy the Arrowverse has gotten, we can’t rule out either a resurrection, time remnant or doppelganger from another Earth. For all we know, she could pop up again during “Crisis on Infinite Earths” this fall.

From the sound of it though, not even Jessica knew Nora’s final fate until late in the game:

“I didn’t know the 100% specifics of the story, so I definitely was surprised, throughout the season. But I did know the general arc of what was going on with Thawne and my dad. So, I knew from the beginning where the story was going to go, but there were definitely details of the storyline that were a surprise.”

The Flash returns for its sixth season on Tuesday nights this fall on The CW, so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens once the saga resumes.
