In his newest special, comic favorite Paul F. Tompkins makes you laugh out loud by detailing the anthology of his life jobs in Laboring Under Delusions, from retail to stand-up comedy to acting opposite Daniel Day-Lewis. The special aired on Comedy Central on April 21st and the DVD has been on the shelves since the 28th.

The comedian has been on the comedy scene since an early age, but most recently, he has garnered fans through his podcast cleverly titled The Pod F. Tompkast and television shows like Best Week Ever. He got his start on Mr. Show in the 90s and since then, he has scored numerous roles in films (that he may or may not have been cut out of), released four albums, and produced two DVD specials.

Laboring Under Delusions is sure to please any fans of Tompkins, with style consistent of his other performances. He goes beyong his nerd audience by detailing his work in retail – a horror to which we can all relate. The special would probably be most enjoyed by fans of Tompkins or similar comedians like Patton Oswalt or Doug Benson, but anyone who happens to be watching Comedy Central when the special repeats will probably themselves in for a treat.

Additionally, if you purchase the DVD, there are a few bonus features almost as funny as the stand-up itself. You’ll be treated to a director’s commentary, an encore bit and a behind-the-scenes look at The Pod F. Tompkast.
