Marvel has shared a new thirty-second clip from “Hollywood Ending,” the big finale to the second season of Agent Carter, prepped to air Tuesday, March 1.
In the clip (seen above), Peggy and Daniel Sousa discover the villainous lair of Whitney Frost and attempt to unravel her endgame before it’s too late. As the clip progresses, Sousa and Peggy take pictures of Frost’s schemes and notes; since Peggy doesn’t “speak megalomaniac,” she’s hoping Howard Stark can help decipher the dense material.
Of course, it doesn’t take long for the flirting to begin, and for Peggy to wax poetic about the turmoil she’s faced on her trip to California, which Sousa describes as being “full of surprises.” Understatement of the year, Sousa.
Here’s the synopsis for the episode:
PEGGY MUST MAKE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE IN ORDER TO DESTROY ZERO MATTER, ON THE SEASON FINALE OF “MARVEL’S AGENT CARTER” ON ABC
“Hollywood Ending”” – Peggy needs Howard Stark to eliminate Zero Matter as they are faced with a mission none of them could come back from, on the season finale of “Marvel’s Agent Carter,” TUESDAY, MARCH 1 (9:00-10:00 p.m. EST) on the ABC Television Network.
Previous ads have pitted “Everyone vs. Whitney Frost” for the final hour of season two, which will pick up after the major cliffhanger of episode nine from last week. After Agent Carter wraps up its run, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is set to make its return next Tuesday in ABC’s MCU timeslot.
No word has yet been given whether Peggy, Jarvis, Sousa and the gang will be back for a third go-round, but Hayley Atwell recently joined another ABC pilot, so the outlook currently isn’t great. Plus, there’s plenty of other small-screen Marvel shows coming down the pipeline, and Agent Carter was always presented as an off-shoot of the mega-franchise, but it’d still be sad to see it go.
If “Hollywood Ending” is also Peggy’s curtain call, hopefully we at least get decent closure in tomorrow night’s finale.
We’ll keep you updated on the status of Marvel’s Agent Carter as renewal season looms this spring, so stay tuned.
