Poison Ivy Returns In New Gotham Promo And Images

With just weeks remaining until the fall finale, Gotham looks to heat things up next week with what may be its most intense episode to air thus far this season. If the above trailer for “Mad City: The Executioner” tells us anything, it’s that we’re in for one hell of a nail biter.

From the looks of it, most of the white knuckle moments in this particular episode will come courtesy of the developing situation with Nathaniel Barnes. Seeing such a hard-nosed, by the book cop descend into madness provided an unexpected twist that has since yielded some compelling television. I and many others have theorized that he’s transitioning to becoming the Batman villain known as Solomon Grundy, but what’s been teased for this episode is starting to make me believe the producers may have something else in mind. My instincts tell me that we’ll get some real answers next week.

Someone else to keep an eye on is Poison Ivy, who will finally get her time in the spotlight this season. This is most welcome because not only is Maggie Geha a great Ivy and a member of the principal cast who has been under-utilized, but also because furthering her plot thread is long overdue. Ever since the premiere, Selina Kyle has been left wondering what’s happened to her missing friend and now she and Bruce Wayne will finally be enlightened.

On a side note, the images provided lead me to believe that Ivy has started to become wise in the ways of manipulation. After all, she can now be seen sporting some rather stylish threads and doesn’t look like she cares all that much for the man accompanying her. Needless to say, I think she’s taking significant strides to becoming the femme fatale we all know and love.

Before perusing the bountiful photo gallery, be sure to check out the official synopsis for next week’s episode of Gotham below:

Gordon and Bullock become suspicious of Barnes, and comb through evidence of the murder at Lee and Mario’s engagement party. Nygma goes to Penguin when he hasn’t heard from Isabella (guest star Chelsea Spack). Meanwhile, Ivy reveals her identity to Selina and Bruce, but quickly leads them to trouble in the all-new “Mad City: The Executioner” episode of GOTHAM airing Monday, Nov. 14 (8:00-9:01 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
