Preacher Adds Jackie Earle Haley As Odin Quincannon

Though we still haven't heard a peep about any potential Saint of Killers casting, AMC's small-screen take on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's controversial comic series, Preacher, has added a different villain in the form of the loathsome Odin Quincannon, who will be played by Oscar nominated Watchmen actor Jackie Earle Haley.

Though we still haven’t heard a peep about any potential Saint of Killers casting, AMC’s small screen take on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s controversial comic series, Preacher, has added a different villain in the form of the loathsome Odin Quincannon, who will be played by Oscar nominated actor Jackie Earle Haley.

According to THR, Hayley has booked a six-episode arc on the show, which is being headed up by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. In the comics, Quincannon is the odious owner of the meat factory in the town of Salvation, and pretty much runs the town. He also happens to a member of the KKK, and has a predilection for, well…. having sex with a giant woman made out of meat. There’s just no subtle way to put that.

From the sounds of the accompanying character description, the show will be relocating him to Jesse Custer’s parish of Annville, Texas:

A small, decrepit man with the unscrupulous iron will necessary to be the most powerful man in Annville County, Texas. The chief employer in town, Odin runs Quincannon Meat & Power, a 125-year-old family run cattle slaughterhouse business.

Preacher also stars Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, Ruth Negga as Tulip and Joe Gilgun as Cassidy. The pilot is set to premiere at next month’s SXSW Film Festival.
