Preacher Images Introduce Tulip And Cassidy

The pilot episode of AMC’s small-screen take on controversial DC Vertigo comic series, Preacher, is set to premiere at this year’s SXSW Film Festival, and in anticipation of that, the network has released a couple of new stills featuring two of the major players: gun-toting badass Tulip O’Hare (Ruth Negga) and hard-drinking Irish vampire Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun).

Though both characters were glimpsed in the first teaser, these are the first offcial images of the lethal pair. In the comics, Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) encounters his estranged ex Tulip and his soon-to-be best bud Cassidy not long after being possessed by the all-powerful entity known as Genesis, and the trio hit the road together. We don’t know if the show will follow suit, but word from early screenings implies they’ll be staying put in one place… at least for the time being.

Preacher is slated to debut sometime in May.

Preacher is a supernatural, twisted and darkly comedic drama that follows a West Texas preacher named Jesse Custer, who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that causes him to develop a highly unusual power. Jesse, his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip and an Irish vagabond named Cassidy come together and when they do, they are thrust into a crazy world populated by a cast of characters from Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.
