Pretty Little Liars Review: “The Mirror Has Three Faces” (Season 4, Episode 10)

Emily (Shay Mitchell) and her mom have been living out of a motel since 'A' decided to send a strongly worded message via a car through their living room wall. Of course, her mother just thinks it was a reckless driver, but Emily knows the truth. Only 'A' could get away with slamming heavy machinery into a house without leaving a trace.

This episode of Pretty Little Liars was full of bad signs. The fact that Wren (Julian Morris) seems to be working against the Liars is a huge red flag. For a long time he was located on the periphery, someone that just filled in when they needed an extra body, but not really having a compelling storyline. Yet, he always appeared to be on their side. Now that Mona’s (Janel Parrish) back at Radley following her confession, he’s in a quite appealing spot.

Wren is already using his influence to tip the scales out of the Liars’ favor. Whatever it was he was trying to pull with Spencer’s (Troian Bellisario) mom, it worked. Hannah’s mom has now lost her best chance at getting out of this legal situation partially in-tact. Although it looks like Mona might have had something to do with it, given the ‘anonymous’ tip, but I’m going to give her the benefit of the doubt – at least this time.

Mona may have been the ultimate bad guy before, but if this is the kind of thing we can expect from Cece Drake (Vanessa Ray) – things are about to get really scary, really fast.  We learned from an old roommate of hers that she apparently has some ancient grudge against the Aly and the Liars based on some sketchy information. Does that mean that everything going on lately is a matter of miscommunication? I wonder how badly Aly burned Cece back in the day, and why they were still all buddy-buddy the summer she disappeared if that was the case.

There’s also the random information that Toby is receiving pertaining to his mother’s alleged-suicide. Why is ‘A’ so content bringing up the past? And how is this related to her present plans for the Liars?

‘A’ is stepping up her game and the Liars are finding themselves all out of cards to play. Will they be able to turn the tables on her before it’s too late, or will they lose more of the people they love in the process? There’s only a couple more episodes of Pretty Little Liars to go before the summer finale, and things are just getting good. What do you think we can expect before our favorite Liars go on hiatus? Let us know in the comment section below!

Until next episode…
