First Look Promo For Supernatural Season 11, Episode 13: “Love Hurts”

Thanks to The CW network, we have our first look at next week's brand new episode of Supernatural, which is titled "Love Hurts." The series has put its own bloody spin on Valentine's Day in the past, as the horror genre is no stranger to doing, so it should be interesting to see what they bring to the table this time around.

From the footage given here, we can see that Sam and Dean Winchester are investigating a case in which people have had their hearts ripped out, causing them to first suspect werewolves. As it turns out, next week’s brand of terror is actually a product of an ancient curse that marks people for death once they have been kissed. That sounds like the worst possible case of cooties to me!

As longtime fans of the show are aware, the writers often pluck things from established folklore and urban legends, so I’m very interested to see what they dug up from this episode. Considering that Dean boasts a hickey at the beginning of the above promo video, I would not doubt if one of the Winchester boys becomes affected by the curse, putting them in a race against the clock.

Although there is no mention of Amara/The Darkness, we can’t rule out any “big picture” developments in this episode. Even if we don’t get a hint of the overarching story, it has been nice to see our favorite hunters work more traditional cases over the course of the past few weeks.

For more information, be sure to check out the official synopsis below:

Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) investigate a set of murders on Valentine’s Day and discover they are dealing with an ancient curse. Once kissed by the curse, the person is marked to die. Phil Sgriccia directed the episode written by Eric Charmelo & Nicole Snyder (#1113). Original airdate 2/10/2016.

Supernatural airs Wednesday nights at 9:00 pm EST on The CW.
