New Promo And Synopsis Tease Arrow’s Midseason Premiere

This past summer, the producers of Arrow held their cards incredibly close to the vest. Basically, all we knew going into season 7 was that Oliver Queen would remain in prison for some time and that a new Emerald Archer had shown up in town.

But now, as we inch closer toward the second half of that same season, one could argue we know even less about what the future holds. Granted, we do have the matter of the new Green Arrow being unmasked as Ollie’s estranged sister – not to mention the O.G. himself now being sanctioned by the Star City Police Department – but the next few weeks remain a mystery of sorts.

Fortunately, a new promo for the midseason premiere has debuted (seen above), this time showing us even more of the woman whom comic book readers believe to be Emiko. And from the look of it, her motivations make her not at all that dissimilar to her brother during the earlier days of his crusade.

If that weren’t enough to whet your appetite, then perhaps this freshly released synopsis for “Shattered Lives” will do the trick:

OLIVER RETURNS TO HIS REGULAR LIFE IN STAR CITY — Oliver (Stephen Amell) is ready to get back to work with the SCPD and to focus on his marriage with Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards). However, when Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) tasks Oliver with tracking the new Green Arrow (Sea Shimooka) things take a surprising turn. Meanwhile, Diggle (David Ramsey) and Lyla (guest star Audrey Marie Anderson) must answer to ARGUS about Diaz (Kirk Acevedo). Andi Armaganian directed the episode written by Benjamin Raab & Deric A. Hughes (#710).

Based on those two exhibits, it’s fair to say that we’ll be seeing a whole lot more of Ms. Queen going forward – but whether she has a face-to-face confrontation with Oliver during the midseason premiere is unknown to us. If she doesn’t, then we imagine that could occur during the 150th episode, “Emerald Archer.”

Arrow returns with new episodes on Monday, January 21st on The CW.
