The Punisher Spinoff From Marvel And Netflix Is Officially Happening

Rumors have been circulating for a while that Marvel and Netflix were planning a Daredevil spinoff that would focus on the ultra-violent vigilante first introduced in season 2 of the show, and now it’s no longer just a rumor. Marvel has officially announced that Jon Bernthal will return as Frank Castle, AKA The Punisher, for his own solo series.

Hannibal writer/executive producer Steve Lightfoot will serve as showrunner on the series, which doesn’t yet have an air date – though there seems to be a very good chance that we’ll see Bernthal reprise the role in The Defenders before he gets to dole out bloody justice in his spinoff.
