Ra’s al Ghul Arrives In Gotham Season Finale Synopsis

A couple months back, word came down that the man behind the Court of Owls is, in fact, Ra's al Ghul, something the creative minds behind Gotham weren't exactly thrilled about being spoiled. Despite the leak, the prospect of seeing one of Batman's deadliest enemies be reinterpreted for this prequel series intrigued many, especially when you factor in that he's being played by Alexander Siddig.

Granted, Bruce Wayne is currently but a mere teenager in this continuity, but it should still be worthwhile to see how the two interact. If you were to ask us, the producers are looking to Batman Begins for some inspiration when you consider that this meeting is occurring before the boy who would be the Dark Knight has taken up cape and cowl. Furthermore, we should all pay close attention, as this’ll no doubt serve as a springboard for whatever season 4 has in store for us.

Speaking of which, another thing to keep your eyes peeled for is the likelihood of Barbara Kean making her first strides toward becoming Harley Quinn. Although that little detail is missing from the official synopsis, the magic eight-ball says all signs point toward this being where it finally goes down.

With the deadly virus spreading throughout the city, the search for the antidote continues, as Fish Mooney (guest star Jada Pinkett Smith), The Riddler and Penguin reveal plans of their own. Bruce meets Ra’s Al Ghul (guest star Alexander Siddig) and completes his last task in order to fulfill his destiny, but realizes he can’t let go of his past. Meanwhile, Gordon tries to win back Lee, and past alliances within Gotham City are broken, while new alliances are formed in the all-new, special two-hour “Heroes Rise: Destiny Calling/ Heroes Rise: Heavydirtysoul” season finale episode of GOTHAM airing Monday, June 5 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
