First Look At Sarah Jessica Parker In HBO’s Divorce

Sarah Jessica Parker is returning to HBO with yet another New York City-set comedy. This one's called Divorce and was created by Sharon Horgan. As you probably surmise, the generic sounding plot follows Parker's Frances, a woman who reassesses her marriage and life and decides to make a clean break in order to start fresh. However, doing so is a lot harder than she initially thought.

Sarah Jessica Parker is returning to HBO with yet another New York City-set comedy. This one’s called Divorce and was created by Sharon Horgan. As you probably surmise, the generic sounding plot follows Parker’s Frances, a woman who reassesses her marriage and life and decides to make a clean break in order to start fresh. However, doing so is a lot harder than she initially thought.

The first image from the upcoming series was released earlier this week, and aside from showing us that the actress still looks good even at age 50, it doesn’t really reveal a whole lot. We do know though that aside from Parker, Thomas Hayden Church is on board to play Frances’ husband, while Molly Shannon, Talia Balsam and Tracy Letts will also co-star.

While the cast is certainly solid, we’re not expecting a whole lot out of this one. Sure, Sex and the City was a game-changer for HBO, and for television in general, but Divorce sounds a bit bland and unoriginal. That being said, it will no doubt strike a chord with those who tuned in religiously to that aforementioned cable hit, and I suppose there’s still a small chance that it could turn out to be somewhat charming, especially with Sarah Jessica Parker in the lead role.

Check out the first image from Divorce below and let us know in the comments section if it sounds like something worth tuning into.
