Secret Invasion‘s second episode ends with a shocking twist. Fury has royally screwed up and been fired by Rhodes, so where else to head but home? We’ve seen a lot of Nick Fury over the 15 years since he debuted in Iron Man, but know very little of his personal life.

All of which adds up to something of a surprise when he hops in his car and heads to his stylish modernist home(!), puts on his wedding ring (!!) and meets his Skrull wife Priscilla (!!!). Fury’s romantic past is kept largely under wraps in the MCU, but he’s been married twice before Priscilla, and it didn’t work out.

Although this episode is her onscreen debut, Priscilla was first mentioned onscreen way back in 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In the scene in which Fury breaks into Steve Rogers’ apartment, he explains “my wife kicked me out.” Rogers replies “Didn’t know you were married,” to which Fury responds, “A lot of things you don’t know about me.”

Well, now we’ve met Priscilla. Her being a Skrull certainly throws Fury’s failed ambition to find the refugee alien species a home into a new light, and should throw up some interesting moral quandaries if his allegiance to the human race comes into question. Beyond that, we can’t help but wonder whether Fury may have closer ties to Gravik than he first appears. Let’s hope there are some more answers coming soon.

Secret Invasion airs Wednesdays on Disney Plus.
