Despite any concerns we may have had going in to season 4, Gotham has handily put them to bed in short order. Just last night, we were witness to what was possibly the most comic book accurate Scarecrow in live action to date, as Jim Gordon was forced to brave the halls of Arkham Asylum while under the influence of fear toxin. Truth be told, it made me recall Silent Hill‘s Brookhaven Hospital at times, but it’s more likely the producers were influenced by the Arkham video games.
After having to endure such a trippy encounter and dealing with Penguin trying to unionize crime, it seems like Gordon yearns to restore the order of yesteryear by having the Falcone family reclaim their throne. As such, he’ll be reaching out to Carmine and, in the process, will meet his daughter, Sofia. And if this plan doesn’t work, we fully expect the spread of chaos to continue, thus facilitating a Gotham City that will need a Batman.
Speaking of which, Bruce Wayne upgraded his gear last night, as he’s now taking to the streets with some duds that look like they were stolen from Midnighter. Still, his vigilante crusade has thus far been handled rather well, so we’re intrigued to see what happens once he incurs the wrath of Oswald Cobblepot.
For more information regarding “A Dark Knight: They Who Hide Behind Masks,” be sure to check out the official synopsis below:
Gordon takes matters into his own hands when he travels to Miami in attempts to persuade Carmine Falcone for his help in the fight against Penguin. There, he meets Carmine’s (guest star John Doman) daughter, Sofia (Crystal Reed), who unexpectedly follows Gordon back to Gotham. The battle for Penguin’s prized weaponry continues during auction night at the Iceberg Lounge and Bruce’s presence puts him on Penguin’s radar.
Gotham airs on Thursday nights on Fox.
