Recently at PaleyFest, Sons Of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter talked about what’s in store for the fifth season of his biker drama, new cast members, and the possibility of creating a prequel show based on The First Nine.

A while back Sutter Tweeted that he has brought up the possibility of a prequel series to Sons Of Anarchy with FX. At PaleyFest, he commented further on it.

“I had this notion of wanting to explore the first nine. I see it as a different show – not a continuation or another version of Sons of Anarchy but a more political and socially historical sort of show. I definitely have some interest in doing it. I’d like to explore it in some capacity.”

Sutter then went on to speak about season 5.

“The dynamic that will play out this season will see Jax at the head of the table and the struggles he has in being king. Basically, the question will be, ‘Can Jax (Charlie Hunnam) be the leader of an organized crime family and not become Clay (Ron Perlman)?”

Season five will also feature “a nomad who comes to Charming.” The character will be played by Chuck Zito, the same Chuck Zito who sued FX for $5 million for ripping off his idea for a biker show and turning it into Sons Of Anarchy. Sutter also stated that the role of Damon Pope, a potential villain in season 5, has not been cast as of yet.

Lastly, he also revealed that the role played by David Hasselhoff in season 4 originally had Steven Tyler cast, however Tyler had to pull out due to tour schedules.

That’s it for Sons Of Anarchy talk but it does have me quite excited. FX has a winner with their hands on this one and there’s no doubt that Sutter will deliver again with season 5.

Sons Of Anarchy season 5 premieres September 5th on FX.
