With Daredevil set to reach Netflix next month, Luke Cage is currently shooting and being lined up as the second of 2016’s Marvel shows on the online streaming service. Principal photography began roughly six months ago, but the team behind this series is still hard at work, as you can see from the images in the gallery above.

The set photos show Mike Colter’s Luke Cage (a character we met for the first time in Jessica Jones last November) taking on a couple of cops from the NYPD, a sign that he’s still very much a fugitive when we pick up with him here. Of course, there’s also a chance that this could be a flashback, as the actor has previously confirmed that his origin story will be explored through flashbacks, which is similar to what we saw in the previous two Marvel shows on Netflix.

Not a huge amount is known about Luke Cage right now, though the synopsis revealed that he’s a former gang member who was framed for a crime by his friend turned enemy, Willy Stryker. In prison, he volunteers for a medical experiment that goes awry, giving him super strength and bulletproof skin. Using his newfound powers, Cage escapes and becomes a hero for hire.

Unfortunately, it could be a while before we learn more about Luke Cage, but the show is certainly sounding promising so far and given how much of an impact he made in Jessica Jones, I’m feeling pretty confident that Marvel and Netflix’s third outing is going to be another treat for fans.
