‘Star Wars’ fan predicted Grogu’s saviour in ‘The Mandalorian’ more than two years ago

Ahmed Best's return was predicted some time ago.

Ahmed Best‘s return in The Mandalorian blew fans away, especially since he used to play Jar Jar Binks in the prequel trilogy. However, you may be interested to know that his return was predicted back when the show was still in its second season.

Twitter user @keldorjedii made their prediction back in December 2020, suggesting that it would be cool if Best’s other Star Wars character, Kelleran Beq ended up being the one to save Grogu from Order 66. For those still unfamiliar with his character, Beq was the host of a Star Wars online game show titled, Star Wars: Jedi Challenge. The show had young contestants overcoming obstacle courses to win Kyber Crystals, while Beq acts as their mentor and “dean” of the Jedi Temple.

When the tweet was first posted, some doubted it would come true. Why would Best return if he almost considered self-harm after his last major Star Wars role and received hate for it? Fortunately, @keldorjedii did receive support, stating that it would be a cool way to bring him back to the franchise.

Since his reveal in Chapter 20 of The Mandalorian last week, people have since been going back to the original tweet that had the prediction, expressing shock that it came true.

Some even alleged that Jon Favreau and David Filoni, the writers of Chapter 20: “The Foundling,” saw the tweet in question and made it happen. Remember, this is the same season that made the “come to the dark side, we have cookies” meme into actual Star Wars canon in Chapter 19. The theory is also supported by the fact that fans tagged the writers and the actor when the tweet was first posted.

Best’s return to Star Wars as the Jedi who saved Grogu during Order 66 certainly captured the hearts of fans, and you can rewatch that moment on Disney Plus as Chapter 20: “The Foundling” is streaming along with the rest of the currently-available episodes of The Mandalorian.
